I started down the road to becoming a DJ when I was 16 years old. My church could no longer pay for the local radio station DJs to perform at our monthly dances so the dance committee I was the chair for decided to pool our resources together and DJ the dances ourselves. DJing helped feed my love for music and, as a thespian, my need to perform. I went to school to study radio broadcasting and worked on the Robert W. Morgan Show on K-Earth 101.
It was in 1996, when I got married, that I really started to focus on entertaining at weddings. After seeing first-hand how important and influential a DJ and master of ceremonies are to a reception, I made it my goal to make sure every bride and groom that I came in contact with received the quality of care they deserve.
So why do I do this? As one of my mentor's teaches...It's all about love. I do this out of love and respect. A love for those I serve. A respect for this profession. I believe in building relationships of trust between those I serve and myself. I feel that the personalities of all involved should compliment each other and I have no fear in telling someone when I would not be the best match for their celebration. I want to do what is in your best interest.
